Crockpot Carnitas Style Chicken


Macronutrients per 4oz serving: 26g P, 2g F, 2g C

  • Use as much chicken as you would like to last you for however long you’ll need!

  • Trim fat off of the chicken.

  • Season chicken with:

    • 1 tbsp cumin

    • ½ teaspoon chili powder

    • ½ teaspoon oregano

    • 1 tablespoon garlic salt

      • Add all the chicken to the crockpot.

  • Add to the crockpot next:

    • 1 chopped yellow onion

    • the zest and juice of one orange

    • ¼ cup lime juice

    • ¼ cup low-sodium chicken broth

    • 5 chopped garlic cloves

    • ½ bunch of cilantro

  • Cook either on high for 4 hours or on low for 6 hours.

  • Shred the chicken once finished and store in your fridge.

Makes a great burrito bowl! (Add brown rice or quinoa, low-sodium beans, lots of veggies, salsa, even avocado!)
