Balancing yourself, your life…

Sleep, fueling your body, work, giving back, fun, friendship, exercise, walking the dog, grocery shopping, homework, time with family, time with friends...these are all included in a balanced life.

Are you getting enough sleep?

Life can be such a brief moment in time, but we often let some of it go by being too busy to enjoy the moment or preoccupied by things that don’t really matter.

Just as you’re about to head to the gym/box something comes up…a phone call for work, a child needs you, your spouse is going to be late...

There are so many scenarios that can keep you from taking care of yourself, doing what you need to do or want to do just for YOU.

If you need to find a better way to balance your life, try looking at life from a "hours in a week" perspective.

We have 168 hours in a week, it’s recommended that you sleep for at least 56 of those hours.

You have 112 left, say you average 40 for work, now there are 72 left. (If you’re a stay at home parent, you can up the hours of work to 60 or 65, for sure!)

Now you’ve got somewhere between 57-72 hours remaining.

Let’s use 21 for meals, 10 for transportation, 10 for grocery shopping/errands and 7 for showering and getting ready for your day.

You’ve now got 9-18 left over…if your numbers look different, just stay positive, intend it and go for it, you've got to start somewhere.

(Maybe you need an extra 7-16 for family obligations, now your time is quite limited. This means finding 1-2 hours a week for yourself is going to be challenging. Put your mind to it, guide your heart in that direction, truly believe and know you deserve that time, it'll show up, I know it!)

I challenge you to use ALL or any of those extra hours for yourself!

Can you do it? Will you do it?

This is when you’ll schedule time for working out, meditating, spending time with a friend, walking on the beach, going to the movies, napping, getting a massage, going on a date, etc.

It’s going to feel unnatural at first, but you got this!!!

Enjoy it, I promise you’ll thank me later.
